Shouldn't her special CAD called Brionake? It's spelled a little different from the legendary Brionac. It's kinda clear in the manga at least. Monterossa 20:37, 14 November 2020 (UTC)

No, because of how the Japanese alphabet works. There is no letter 'c' and constants with the exclusion of the 'n' are always accompanied by a vowel. So when adapting foreign words they have to approximate so the 'k' is being used in lieu of the 'c' and the 'e' can be ignored. It is Brionac. Otherwise Lina (アンジェリーナ) would become Rina (Anjeriina). I know Japanese, but the manga actually spelled it differently. The usual Brionac from the folklore is ブリューナク, while Lina's weapon is ブリオネイク. Tatsuya heard its name and noticed that it's a little bit different. Plus, the mangaka actually wrote it in English. I haven't check the novel yet but both the manga and anime clearly say Burioneiku, except for when Tatsuya thinks about the folklore Buryuunaku one. Monterossa (talk) 08:35, 15 November 2020 (UTC)

Regardless of which, Brionac is supposed to have a US name so the US version would in theory supersede the Japanese katakana approximation. The official English light novel also uses Brionac, which can be seen on page 13 of the physical release.

Why is the US version higher priority than the original source though? Monterossa (talk) 12:09, 23 November 2020 (UTC)
