Shadow Beast (影獣, Kagejū) is a magic that constructs a synthetic beast using shadows as a medium.

Shadow Beast is developed by Zhou Gongjin that took him 10 years that he uses for the first time when he is cornered by Kuroba Mitsugu and avoid being captured.[1]

Shadow Beast is a hybrid magic that incorporates western sorcery and eastern continental magic. The user can also chant an incantation to activate it[1] and the spell will use shadows to create a synthetic beast in the form of a dog to attack its target.[2]
Medium[]
Aside from the use of shadows as a medium, Shadow Beast also activated with the use of Talismans, a paper[1] or tablet[2] containing the engravement spell that can be held or thrown by the user that activates at a later time.
Counter[]
The Shadow Beast can be neutralized when struck with spells that causes them to unable to maintain their form and disintegrate. During his battle against Zhou Gongjin, Nakura Saburou is able to defeat multiple Shadow Beasts by hitting them with Water Needle.[2]
