Rupture (爆裂) is a Dispersion-type magic designed solely for military purposes and the signature magic of the Ichijou Clan.

During World War Three, the First Research Institute researches magic that directly interferes with the living organisms which resulted to combat magicians that directly inflict damage on enemy soldiers. As such, prominent families from the 1st Research Institute, sometimes referred to as "Magicians of the One" are the products of their research like the Ichijou family who specializes in magic interference of body fluids, the Ichinokura Family who specializes in magic interference of body temperature and the Isshiki Family who specializes in magic interference of electricity in the living organisms.[1]
Rupture is one of the Magic developed from the results of their research which becomes the signature magic of the Ichijou Clan. In 2092, Ichijou Gouki and Ichijou Masaki used Rupture to repels the invading New Soviet Union invading forces later to be known as the Invasion of Sado where Masaki's use of Rupture causes the blood of the enemy to splatter his body and would later be known as the "Crimson Prince".[2]

Rupture is a Dispersal Type spell, which evaporates all liquids within an object. In the case of living organisms, body fluids will evaporate and the body will explode with its red blood cells scattering outwards like a crimson flower blooming in the spring. [3]
Since nearly all machines have a fluid of some kind, such as lubricants, coolants, hydraulic or battery fluids or liquid fuel, they will instantly be destroyed by explosion or simply stop working. This is the perfect magic for both anti-personnel and anti-armor combat. Even for summoned creatures like Souryuu, Rupture can effectively destroy them since they use water as their medium.[4]
It's said that jumping into water in the face of Ichijou family's Rupture is the same as charging into a mountain of bombs.[5]

Rupture is mainly used as an anti-personnel magic but the user can adjust the scale to either blow up the entire body or a specific part like the limbs to incapacitate their target without killing them. But it leaves the limb to have ruptured blood vessels, muscles and skin, with the exception of the bone which is turned to shreds.[6]
Ocean Blast[]
Ocean Blast is the Strategic-Class Magic variant of Rupture that utilizes the Chain Casting technique of Tuman Bomba and the specialized CAD to activate its Magic Sequence to cause a wide range destruction from the steam of a body of water that is further enhanced by accelerating the molecules of water vapor, thus resulting in a powerful explosion that can destroy an entire naval fleet.[7]

Rupture's weakness is that it doesn't work against targets that do not have any fluids in them. Rupture cast by Ichijou Masaki was unable to counteract phantom troops (which had no fluid inside it) created by Ancient Magic. It also requires the location of the individual target rather than working in a wide area.
