Ninjutsu (忍術) sometimes used interchangeably with the modern term Ninpō (忍法) is the martial art, strategy, and tactics. In Mahouka, it is a type of Ancient Magic.
Background[]
When magic was first becoming the target of science, yet still concealed from the public world, it was revealed that many ancient arts which had been classified as mere forms of medieval martial arts were in truth types of magic. Ninjutsu was one such martial art which was in reality a school of ancient magic, and that was the truth of the "transformations" in the ninjutsu of legend. Magic in the form of high speed movement and illusions.[1]
Practitioners of Ninjutsu are not that rare. They are simply seldom seen simply because they live in a world where ancient magic is preferred over modern magic. And as ancient magicians, many can be found in Iga and Koga where ancient magic is centered, as well as Mt. Kurama which has become a center of Ninjutsu users in modern Japan.[2]
Onibi[]
- Onibi (鬼火, "Will-o'-the-wisp") - A high-quality illusion spell, which produces ghostly orbs of light, swirling around the user. The orbs created by the Ninjutsu Magic are more accurate and more mobile than those made by Modern Magic.[3] ‘Onibi’ was not a physical fire, it was a magic with visualization of fire.[4]
Matoi[]
- Matoi, meaning 'enshroud' is a spell which focuses on creating a body clone of the user, and is the original Ancient Magic version of Parade. Comparison with Parade; The technique Parade created an Information Body containing all the elements 'colour', 'shape', sound', 'heat' and 'position'. It was the same as Yakumo's 'Matoi'.[5]

Gishin Anki[]
- An illusion magic that makes the enemy hallucinate that he recieved a heavy blow.
Stealth[]

- Stealth allows its user to blend into their surrounding, making them invisible and allowing them to make a sneak attack at an enemy undetected.[2]
