The Baxian (Chinese: 八仙), lit. Eight Immortals is a special operations magician unit of the Great Asian Union military.
Location[]
The headquarters of the Baxian is located at Shaanxi Province in the middle reaches of the Yellow River in the Great Asian Union which is inside a building masquerading as an old Taoist Temple.[1] Their operations have been limited to only domestic matters in the Great Asian Union and Central Asian areas. [2]
Secrecy[]
Aside from their limited area of operations, the Baxian's existence is a kept secret that neither Japan's National Defense Force is privy of the Baxian nor the USNA. But the Indo-Persian Federation military officials, especially their magician elite unit - the Saptarishi would know far more about them because of their intelligence and espionage wars against Great Asian Union in Tibet.[2]
Members[]
The code names of the Baxian is based on the Eight Immortals in Chinese Mythology with nearly matching abilities and weapons.[2] Since the Baxian's debut, only four members have been revealed so far and the rest are expected to appear in future Magian Company Light Novel releases.
- Cao Guojiu - commanding officer of the Baxian who assigns missions to its members based on his powers of divination [1]
- Zhongli Quan - a broad and bulky man in his 40's that uses invisible blades with his iron fans and his weapon of choice.[2] Zhongli Quan specializes in body manipulation of his own or enemy's body and Shadow Beast magic.[3]
- Han Xiangzi - a young looking man in his 30's specializing in various sound magic depending on the music played with his flute.[2]
- Lu Dongbin - a middle aged looking man in his 30's what uses daggers for combat or manipulate them from afar.[4]
- He Xiangu - a female member of the Baxian and a master of appearance altering magic. As such, He Xiangu specializes in infiltrating enemy territories to establish bases of operations for future attacks.[3]
- Lan Caihe - another female member of the Baxian who specializes in Sabotage and honey trapping, also known as HUMINT (Human Intelligence) Recruiting[1]
